Content Analyzer can tell you how your digital content is performing both on and off your site. The tool measures social shares, backlinks, keyword rankings, and even Google Analytics data like sessions and bounce rate. The tool has two main functions - auditing your own website content's engagement (Content Audit) and measuring the reach of your off-site content (Post Tracking).
- Adjustable content audit table and workflow
- Ability to add tasks and send them to Google Calendar or Trello
- SEO visibility trend analysis for external posts
- Evaluate referral traffic from guest posts to your domain
- Integration with Google Analytics and Google Search Console
Everybody wants to improve their website’s SEO, but it isn’t always easy to know where to start.
Running a content audit is a great first step to take because you can find pages on your site that are old and potentially outdated or pages with a very low count of social shares - your top priorities to improve. By going back and improving your low performing website content with optimized on-page SEO elements, you can slowly improve your website’s overall search engine visibility.
Do you have a large website? No need to worry, you can select specific subfolders (based on your sitemap files) to focus on. You’ll be able to see which pages on your site are performing worse than others and manage a plan to improve them one page at a time.
Semrush also offers Google Analytics integration with this tool, so you can measure the bounce rate, sessions, and average session duration of the pages you are auditing.
If you write and promote external articles (such as guest posts), this analysis will be valuable for reporting the impact of your work. Additionally, seeing how well each article has performed will give you an understanding of what works in order to format any future campaigns for success.
Using Content Audit, you can:
- Identify the most successful types of content on your blog
- Find the most shared articles on your blog
- Identify blog post to rewrite and to update
- Quickly audit a set of URLs or subfolders on your website
Using Post Tracking, you can:
Guest posting is a way of building links or PR by writing relevant blog posts on another website as a guest author and mentioning/linking to your website in the body of the article.
Let’s say you work for an online shoe store and you want to improve your SEO and get some good press for the site at the same time. Here’s where you could leverage guest posts by reaching out to blogs that write about fashion, sports and shoes in general and pitch article ideas to publish on their website as a guest author.
If the blog accepts your offer, it is an opportunity for you to reach a new audience with your message and leave a link back to your website or social media once in the article or in your guest author signature. The blog gets the original content, and you get to reach a new audience. As long as your post is interesting to the blog’s audience, it’s a win-win type of agreement. Many SEOs have built brands and gotten much more exposure as a result of guest posting.
The Post Tracking report in this tool is our solution for needing a better way to track the impact of your guest posting campaigns.
When you want to delete a specific tool, you will have to delete the whole project. This will remove all of the other campaigns set up in the Project.
So let’s say you want to delete a Content Analyzer campaign. When you delete the Project you will also be deleting the Position Tracking campaign, Social Media Tracker, Link Building or any other tools that are also in that project.
Projects cannot be recovered once they are deleted so it's important to be careful when deleting a project. Only delete a project if you are 100 percent sure because all of your data will be gone forever.
